Bolton Wanderers 1 Aston Villa 2: Villa gets first away win

Alex McLeish can breath a sigh of relief as his Aston Villa team finally got their first away victory at Bolton's expense.

Villa dominated possession (55% to Bolton's 45%), and took a 2-0 lead into half time. Marc Albrighton opened scoring in the 33rd minute, converting Gabby Agbonlahor's cross. Stiliyan Petrov concluded matters with a 30 yard strike in the 39th minute to close out a one sided first half.

Ivan Klasnic pulled back a goal for the home team in the 55th minute, but Bolton could not be motivated to get the much needed equalizer before full time.

With this result, Bolton are dead last on the league table and Owen Coyle is surely on his way out before the Christmas break.
