Downing met Suarez's cross with a smart flick on goal which drew a great save from Bolton's keeper, Jaaskelainen. Suarez blew a chance to send Liverpool two goals up when his chip over Jaaskelainen sailed over the bar on the 25th minute mark. A few minutes later, Liverpool's right full back, Martin Kelly pulled a hamstring and was substituted by Martin Skrtel.

The Liverpool attack resumed with vigor in the second half with Suarez deserving of a penalty in the 47th minute. Not given. Nonetheless, the Reds were 2-0 up in the next five minutes when substitute Martin Skrtel thumped home a powerful header off a Charlie Adam corner kick.

The very next minute, Charlie Adam turned scorer from provider, drilling a right-footed shot into the corner of the net past the diving Jaaskelainen. Game over.

Bolton got a consolation goal via Ivan Klasnic in added time, to make the score line more decent. By then, the Kop was long lost in joyous singing and chanting to the delight of Liverpool Manager, Kenny Dalglish.
